Horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) – The Root of Resistance

Fiery, pungent, and undeniably sharp, Horseradish is a botanical of fierce defense and spiritual purification. Ruled by the planet Mars and the element of Fire, its energy is fast-acting and penetrative. It is historically used by practitioners to "cut through" the densest negativity and to break apart stagnant or stagnant situations.

In magickal tradition, Horseradish is the ultimate "uncrossing" herb. It is used to clear away hexes, bad luck, and the "evil eye" by metaphorically burning them out of existence. It is a root of resilience, helping the practitioner to stand their ground and repel any influence that attempts to dampen their personal power.

• Purification Wards: Sprinkle a small amount of the dried herb around the exterior corners of your home to create a "ring of fire" that repels unwanted spirits and malicious energy.

• Waning Moon Banishing: During the waning moon, place a few pieces of Horseradish in a bowl of salt on your altar to absorb and neutralize feelings of sluggishness or defeat.
