Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus) – The Herb of Remembrance

Pungent, pine-like, and vibrantly green, Rosemary is a botanical of supreme clarity and cleansing. Ruled by the Sun and the element of Fire, its energy is solar, masculine, and intensely revitalising. It is historically one of the oldest incenses used by practitioners to "blast" away negative energy and to sharpen the memory of the spirit.

In magickal tradition, Rosemary is the "Healer’s Guard." It is used to protect the home from "theft" of the spirit—preventing unwanted entities or low-vibration thoughts from settling in. Because of its association with remembrance, it is also a premier herb for honoring ancestors and for keeping the mind "bright" and focused during times of high mental demand.
